Stage 3 Water Restrictions for Red Porous Tennis Courts
Stage 3 Water Restrictions are being introduced from January 1, 2007. Tennis Victoria. in consultation with Melbourne's water authorities has secured the following tennis water conservation plan for red porous courts.
- Hand-held hose watering before each set/session is ALLOWED
- MAXIMUM of 1 out of 2 courts MAY be watered at any facility (i.e. 2 out of 4 courts at POTC)
- MINIMUM 1 court may be watered per facility
- Courts may NOT be watered at the completion of play
- On days when the courts are not in use or on 'extreme' hot and/or windy days (e.g. over 25 degress and windy, or over 30 degrees), hand-held hose watering is allowed for NO MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR between the hours 12-1pm and 7-8pm
- NO manual or automatic watering systems or sprinklers to be used at any time
